“I have been interested in rc flight most of my life, but it was only in recent years that I found the hobby to be affordable and within reach. This was due mostly to being able to scratch build planes from very inexpensive materials and the availability of cheaper electronics. A friend and I fly together on private property on the rural plains of Kansas. Occasionally we have friends stop by and we love introducing them to the joys of rc flight. It is a special treat to help a child fly for the first time! We each bring several planes, many of them home built. Most of the proposed regulations would make all of this impossible, and if not impossible, very difficult. I love seeing kids getting involved in building and flying and fear that these regulations would make the barrier to entry too high.”
