“As a student, I always wanted to know how planes fly. Looking at equations is one way to understand it, but actually building a plane and troubleshooting why it’s not flying well gave me a way better insight than looking at equations on a piece of paper ever would. If all the planes had to be made of FAA-approved materials and have transponders, I don’t think I would be able to build and understand them like I do now.”
