“Building and flying gives me opportunities as an educator to bring new concepts into the classroom (aerodynamics, flight control, radio frequencies, electrical component assembly, etc.). On a personal level, flying is a great way for me to get outdoors and decompress after a long week of classrooms full of kids, it allows me to reset no matter what trials life throws my way. Building my own aircraft is cathartic and always a learning experience. The camaraderie within the hobby is something rare, with everyone truly encouraging each other no matter the racial/social/income/background differences, this hobby helps build real friendships”
