“I am a new member of the RC aircraft hobby community. Though I have always been an aviation enthusiast, the build techniques from FliteTest, and the declining costs in electronics and batteries, have made it financially sensible for me to pursue my passion for model aviation. I am also a professional astronomer and research scientist, from which I have a strong passion for STEM outreach. With FliteTest’s simple build techniques, affordable electronics, model aviation is an excellent platform for STEM outreach. I support FliteTest in inspiring the next generation of engineers and scientists. Remote ID technology is prohibitively expensive, adding cost to the manufacturing process, and financially restrictive for these activities. I believe that the remoteID proposal needs to be refined, to make allowances for scratch-building enthusiasts and educators.”
