“This will have a significant financial impact on my ability to fly. I can’t afford to buy new equipment and most likely pay someone to install it on my numerous models. These regulations are trying to solve a problem where the risk analysis doesn’t show a significant risk to FAA standards. This is only a perceived risk by lawmakers. The FAA needs to be the voice of reason as they always have been when responding to knee jerk reactions by lawmakers. The realized risk is higher for bird strikes and if the FAA wants to make a significant impact on foreign objects hitting aircraft, they should invest more on bird strike prevention.”
