“I’m relatively new to the hobby, I started about 3 years ago. Since then, I’ve gathered a collection of several planes of various sizes, and I look forward to growing my fleet as the years go on. One thing I’m really looking forward to is teaching my boys how to fly. Both are way too young right now, but they see me with my planes and know that one day I’ll let them fly. I also love the building of the planes and hope to instill that love of building in my boys as they grow. This is a generational hobby. One that can be passed on and provide great opportunities and learning for future generations. By adding extra unnecessary restrictions to it, many people will be deterred from starting. This will greatly affect out future engineers and pilots. If this RID passes, I will no longer be able to fly due to the potential financial burden it will add. Model aviators have been flying for many years without a problem and this RID is punishing those modelers for something that doesn’t involve them.”
