“After being a firefighter and law enforcement officer for over 20 years, I am left with a lot of emotional baggage that accompanies the experiences of said professions. While my doctors have prescribed all kinds of pills to help me cope, nothing works like my little $90 RTF Champ. No medicine in the world gives me the kind of lasting peace, enjoyment, and satisfaction that flying my radio controlled airplane gives me. Because of this, I don’t need any of the meds to make me happy. My family and friends have seen the huge positive impact it has made on me. So much so that my wife and kids love going with me. Not because they like aviation or radio controlled planes mind you. They go to see their dad and husband smile and laugh. Which is something that they haven’t seen in a good many years. Loosing my ability to enjoy this hobby would be like loosing myself. Being that I am a family man putting my oldest through college, since I didn’t have that opportunity, my little off the shelf bird is all I can realistically afford. And I’m totally fine with that. But adding more rules and regs will place this beloved hobby out of my financial reach. Please, I’m begging, just let us fly. Thanks.”
