“I started flying FPV in 2017. I had never flown any type of RC craft before, but I knew when I saw the first videos of people remotely piloting these drones that I had to give it a try. From there, my experience grew into enjoying fixed-wing flight as well. I enjoy making videos of my flights, timed or themed to music. I make it a point to fly in places that I have permission to be and that are free of people. Flying RC aircraft challenges me to improve myself as a pilot, as a video content creator, and as a member of a community. Flying RC aircraft has taught me to troubleshoot problems, repair electronics and airframes, and to program. I’ve met people from all over the world, both in person and online, who have become good friends and mentors. In turn, as I grew in experience I became able to help new pilots through some of my same early struggles. I hope to be able to share the passion of flight with my children some day. If these regulations are put into place, the ability to do this will be greatly hampered. An entire industry will be squelched, and we’ll be worse for it.”
