“Without the RC hobby I don’t know where I’d be today, it exposed me to the world of aviation and engineering. Because of my interest in building RC planes, I am now a college student studying aerospace engineering. I am also the design lead for my school’s AIAA “Design Build Fly” club. This club allows us to apply what we are learning in class to design and build an RC plane to compete with each year. With the FAA’s proposed rules it would be very difficult to keep the club and competition going. I also fear it will lower the amount of exposure children have to aviation and engineering.”
