“I started working with model airplanes at the age of five, learning about aviation for my father who was involved in model aircraft during the great depression until till his passing. he went on to become a U.S. Navy test pilot. My involvement in model aviation help sustain my interest in aerospace. After obtaining a degree in aerospace engineering, I was hired by major aerospace corporation to design and develop unmanned vehicles. I worked in that area for many years, designing and flying both small and large unmanned vehicles for military and civilian use. Following that, I led flight sciences teams and was a chief engineer on major program. I just retired after 40 years in the industry. Throughout this time I am maintained my interest and involvement in model aviation. I have witnessed the benefits of practical knowledge that young aeronautical engineers have obtained through designing and flying model aircraft. It is my sincere hope that I could continue this hobby throughout my retirement and contribute my knowledge to young interested minds through the STEM programs. This is why model aviation is so important to me.”
