“Model aircraft (and by extension FPV) is a wonderful opportunity for hands-on education and interactive fun, in a very non-dangerous setting. Most aircraft are foam or plastic, and aren’t life-threatening in any way. The only concern I can see is flying over crowds of people or near airports. Knowing dozens of other teenagers in this hobby, all of them develop LOTS and LOTS of skill and knowledge around aerodynamics, engineering, and electronics. These kids are our future, and are inspired and catapulted into designing our sustainable future before they even hit college. By requiring remote ID, this could potentially extenguish this previously thriving hobby, by making the barrier to entry far too high and a niche activity.”
