“Flying RC is in my blood! Between my father and I, we’ve been flying for decades. It’s how I met one of my my best friends, and his father. Between the four of us it’s one of our favorite things to do together. We fly our planes off the water, and in local parks. We chase them with FPV quad-copters. We watch the weather constantly to plan which days to fly and which days to build. We know how to link our radios, so when passing spectators show interest we can let them fly with a co-pilot. Last summer, my nephew became interested so we taught him to build and fly planes too. We are hoping he’ll become a regular. :) If the new rules pass as they are now, nearly all of our models will be permanently grounded except for our smallest. All of our planes are safe, electric, foam beauties. Most of them are scratch build, some of them are our own designs, but few of them are less than 250 grams. Being required to buy a commercially certified model takes half the fun out of the hobby.”
