“I’ve been in the aviation hobby since I was 9 years old. I still have the first balsa fuel model that I built from scratch using plans from a hobby magazine. Most of my flying is in local parks and rural aras. There are no model fly parks near me at my current address. The type of aircraft that I fly is usually looked down upon by most clubs as it they are scratch built from plans, non painted basic flyers and not the usual club type crafts. Also, most club parks are used my fixed wing aircaft and do not facilitate drone and fpv pilots. In 60 years, I have not had any accident that has caused property damage, personal injury to others, or caused a near miss with any commercial or general aviation aircraft. Technology in the hobby has improved throughout the years and the safety has already proven itself. It has also been a great gift that I have shared with my 3 grandson’s. It’s better than some games on the Ipad. Imagine that!”
